Position Overview Florence 1 Schools is seeking an experienced and innovative Director of the Career and Technology Center (Advantage Academy) to lead and expand Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs across the district. This leadership position focuses on developing and supporting pathways that prepare students for success in industry, workforce, and postsecondary education.
Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Program Development:
- Design, implement, and evaluate innovative CTE pathways aligned with industry standards and workforce needs.
- Provide professional development for educators to support high-quality instruction.
- Oversee and grow CTE offerings, including recently added programs such as Mechatronics, HVAC, and Horticulture/Turf Management.

Budget & Compliance Management:
- Plan and administer departmental budgets, including grant funding, ensuring adherence to all regulations.
- Monitor program effectiveness and ensure alignment with district goals and policies.
- Manage procurement of equipment, materials, and resources to support program success.

Collaboration & Advocacy:
- Foster partnerships with industry leaders, postsecondary institutions, and community organizations.
- Act as a liaison between schools, district leadership, and external stakeholders.
- Advocate for CTE program growth and represent the district in local and regional initiatives.

Data & Reporting:
- Prepare and monitor reports for state and federal agencies to ensure program compliance and effectiveness.
- Utilize data to recommend strategies for program improvement and student success.
Qualifications

Education:
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Educational Leadership, Vocational Education, Career and Technical Education, or a related field.

Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Career and Technical Education, including at least 3 years in a school or district-level administrative role focused on CTE leadership.
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and professional experience may be considered.

Certification:
- Valid South Carolina educator certification in School Administration or a comparable certification meeting state requirements for district-level administrative positions.
